The disrespect of a woman...

The disrespect of a woman...

I was on Facebook today and I noticed that was a story going around discussing Nicole Murphy cheating with Lela Rochon’s husband. I am a woman and I will never condone this type of behavior because it’s very hurtful. The situation at hand was bad enough, but what bothered me was the comments. It went from discussing the story to comparing the physical appearance of both women. Both women are beautiful and if I can remember right, Nicole is a beautiful woman who is also divorced. There were so many comments stating that Lela Rochon fell off and Nicole Murphy looks good. So, are we saying because a woman has aged with grace, has possible health issues, and has not appeared to have any alteration to her body deserved this? What? Now, I shame no woman if she chooses to have anything on her body enhanced. Hell, sometimes I wouldn’t mind getting a little nip and tuck. However, what I won’t do is put another woman down because she looks a certain way. I cannot speak on someone’s marriage or marital issues, but comparing the two women is the problem. So many women walk around with self-esteem issues, hurting themselves, settling for less because they don’t feel good about themselves. Hell, this kind of behavior is the cause of these same feelings. This is the side of social media that I don’t like. Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but think about what you are saying and how it can be hurtful. Every woman has dealt with some kind of pain from a relationship, but no one deserves it.
